NBA DFS Breakdown October 23rd

Happy Tuesday!

Small slate tonight, 3-games, Simmons looking doubtful. We know where the value is, and where your attention should be focused. Ben Simmons looking doubtful, Fultz being moved to PG.

The good news is that this game should be the most competitive on the slate, with a good mixture of some already-announced value in the form of Fultz starting at PG and most likely Reddick starting at the 2. The bad news is that the point total is by far the lowest on this small slate, at 215, which can be the difference maker on any given night. Fultz will be one of the most highly-owned players on the slate for both Cash and GPP, however one of the more intelligent GPP strategies on smaller slates can be to fade the “obvious” guy that you know will be upwards of 50% owned and take someone less sexy such as TJ McConnell. Embiid should come with massive usage tonight and is one of my favorite plays to pay up for this evening. On the other side of this one Drummond was questionable with the flu, however he will give it a go tonight.

Massive point-expectations in NOLA tonight as the Clip-Show come to town.

My first reaction to this game was that it would be a blowout with a similar point total as the other two games. I was very wrong however, and with the highest over-under on the slate by over 10 full points this game looks like the best stack option of the night. AD is the most expensive option, however he will not be slowed down by Gortat/Boban/Harrell and as long as this one stays as close as Vegas expects it to, should hit value with ease. Jrue Holliday is safe for both Cash and GPP, Tobias Harris is my favorite Clipper. I wouldn’t be shocked if Boban gets unleashed tonight simply because the Clippers are going to need his massive frame to match up with AD and Mirotic. Harrell also plays well in these up-tempo affairs, so I wouldn’t be opposed to some sort of combo involving him + Jrue to give yourself exposure here without breaking the bank for AD.

Jokic headlines the late-game as Nuggets shoot for 4-0 start.

The Nuggets haven’t given up 100 points to any opponents this season, including the Warriors, and will most likely be the lowest-owned players on the slate. The Kings have been difficult to predict thus far however I like their young bench and it appears they are good enough to at least stay in games long enough for stars to pay off their salaries. Jokic is my favorite star under 10K, and I fully support going with him over Embiid and Davis in GPP. Gary Harris is a little pricey, however with Barton out there is extra usage to go around for him and Murray.

Injuries I will be looking out for:

1.    Ben Simmons

2.    Jamal Murray
