Welcome back football fans. I already went over my top cash game plays in my weekly cash game article so let’s now take a look at some of the top value plays that can help us get to more of the top tier players.

Quarterback/Running Back Stack

Lamar Jackson(DK - $5,700 FD - $7,400)/Gus Edwards(DK - $4,400 FD - $5,300)

Jackson isn’t minimum price on DraftKings this week(+$1,000) but he showed us what he can do in the zone-read last week running the ball 26 times for 119 yards. He also attempted 19 passes completing 13 of them(68%) for another 150 yards which was good for 19.9 DraftKings/16.9 FanDuel points. At running back, it was Gus Edwards who came in after Collins was somewhat ineffective early on and ended up rushing it 17 times for 115 yards adn showed the chemistry he and Jackson had built throughout the season running with the two’s in practice.

Flacco has been ruled out once again this week meaning Jackson will get another start and it’s another terrific matchup against the Raiders who have given up the second-most rushing yards per game(142.3) while ranking dead last in DVOA vs. the pass and 25th against the rush. Look for more of the same zone-read gameplan with a heavy dose of Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards. Pairing them together only costs about 20% of your salary and allows you to load up with the rest of your lineup.

Running Back

Josh Adams(DK - $3,800 FD - $5,700)

I mentioned Gus Edwards above as a nice value this week in the Ravens zone-read offense but want to go one further, especially on DraftKings. Adams is quite the story after going through training camp and then being cut before the season and sent to the practice squad and then eventually making his way back up to the 52 man roster in week 2. This is definitely a situation of jump on it now before he blows up and the price and ownership go through the roof. The good news is that he has led the Eagles in rushing attempts over the last three games scoring a touchdown last game and also getting six targets. The Eagles have really struggled lately and Doug Pederson in his early-week press conference talked about getting back to more running which will ultimately open up Wentz and the receivers with play action. More good news as the running backs get a terrific matchup against the Giants who rank 25th in rushing yards per game(125.4) and fantasy points against the position. I would hesitate before using Adams in cash games but he is terrific punt running back in GPP formats.

Wide Receiver

Zay Jones(DK - $3,400 FD - $5,100)

This play is most definitely for GPP’s only as we are talking about the Bills offense going up against one of the best defense’s in the game in Jacksonville. What I like here is that Jones has been much more involved in the offense lately with 24 targets over the Bills last three games including a season high 11 last week where he caught eight for 93 yards and a touchdown. Josh Rosen returns this week making so it’s unclear whether that volume will continue but Jones does get the best matchup running out of the slot so at $3,400 on DraftKings, it is worth taking a shot if it means you can load up the rest of your lineup.
