Matthew Stafford(DK - $5,600 FD - $7,300)
If you are looking for a value pivot at the quarterback position for GPP formats this week, don’t overlook Matthew Stafford. He has a ton of upside and has thrown for 300+ yards three times this season and has also thrown for multiple touchdowns in six straight games. This is also not the Vikings defense from last year as they rank middle of the pack in yards per game through the air and in DVOA against the pass. On top of that, their defense is riddled with injuries from Anthony Barr at linebacker to Andrew Sendejo at Safety and their top corner in Xavier Rhodes who is a game time decision and even if he plays won’t be 100%.
From an ownership standpoint, it appears Stafford will be VERY low owned as there are so many other options available this week. Looking at FanShareSports, he is 16th in overall tags and has a low 50% sentiment rating. The Vikings are 5.5 point favorites in this game and for the Lions to stay with them, Stafford and the wideouts(Marvin Jones, Kenny Golladay) will be the key which could lead to GPP winning stack.
Nick Chubb(DK - $4,500 FD - $6,600)
Since trading Carlos Hyde and promoting NicK Chubb to the lead back role, he has carried the ball 18 times in each of the last two games. The good news is both those games were in negative game scripts in losses to the Steelers and Bucs so I am pretty comfortable saying he will continue to get that kind of workload moving forward. What makes me feel better about that is the fact that former running backs coach, Freddie Kitchens, was promoted to offensive coordinator after the Browns fired both Hue Jackson and Todd Haley. The matchup also stands out this week as the Chiefs have allowed the 8th most rushing yards per game(127.6), rank dead last in DVOA vs. the rush, and have allowed the second most fantasy points to the position. The decision is a little tougher on FanDuel where he is in the id $6K range but on DraftKings where his price dropped from lats week, Chubb is in the conversation in all formats with his huge uspide.
Courtland Sutton(DK - $3,900 FD - $5,800)
The Broncos traded DeMaryius Thomas to the Texans this week and that tells a lot about what they think about Courtland Sutton’s development. After arguably his best game of the season last week where he caught three of four targets for 78 yards, he will definitely see a boost in target share moving forward as the team’s #2 receiver behind Emmanuel Sanders. He is a big-bodied receiver(6’3”, 218 lbs) and the good news is that he has already seen a whopping eight targets in the endzone. The matchup is not the best on the board but at a sub $4K price tag on DraftKings, this is the time to get on board as he will likely see a significant jump in salary next week.
