We are just three days away from the NHL All Star Break and tonight we get a smaller five-game slate but it is definitely full of fantasy goodness. Let’s jump in and take a look at some of my core plays and then be sure to grab a copy of my DFS NHL Cheatsheet.

David Rittich(DK - $8,200 FD - $8,200)
The position is lacking tonight with no one goalie who stands out as a must play. The closest I have found is David Rittich as the Flames are big -180 home favorites against a Carolina team that has been below average on the road with a 10-12-1 record and rank 22nd in road offense(2.6 goals per game). For Rittich, he has taken over as the Flames top goalie with an 18-4-4 record overall and has yet to lose in regulation at home(8-0-4). All things considered, Rittich is my top goalie in all formats and it isn’t really close.
Also Consider: Robin Lehner(NYI) in GPP formats
Dylan Larkin(DK - $7,100 FD - $6,900)
If you have the salary to pay up for one player tonight, Connor McDavid is the play but to help build a more balanced lineup, at least in cash games, I will be turning to Larkin on the other side of this matchup. He has been an absolute beast all season on a below average team and comes in with nine points in his last 10 games with 36 shots on goal. The shot volume(10.5 shots/60 & 17.7 iCorsi/60) is what stands out the most for cash games as it provides us with a high floor but the upside is also there as he is averaging just under a point per game(47 in 50 games). He now faces an Edmonton team that ranks 24th on defense allowing 3.3 goals per game. Fire up Larkin in all formats.
Also Consider: Matt Duchene(OTT)
Conor Garland(DK - $5,400 FD - $3,900)
There are some excellent plays on the wing tonight(Gaudreau, Kane, Draisaitl, DeBrincat) and to fit one or two of them in your lineups you will need some value. Tonight that player for me is Conor Garland who is quietly gaining some steam in his rookie season. Over the last 10 games, he has tallied seven points(4 on PP) and along with the upside, has also provided a high floor with 29 shots in those last 10 games and sits with an elite 12.6 shots and 18.1 iCorsi per 60 on the season. DraftKings has caught up wit their pricing making the decision a bit tougher but on FanDuel, Garland is in play in all formats under $4K.
Also Consider: Alex DeBrincat(CHI)
Jordan Oesterle (DK - $4,000 FD - $4,000)
I am going back to the Coyotes for value on defense and will have a ton of exposure to Jordan Oesterle. His role is growing as the ice-time has exceeded 20 minutes per game in six of his last seven after averaging just over 18 on the season. He has also been producing for fantasy lately with six points over his last 10 games(2 on PP) with 14 shots and 28 blocks. At this rate, his salary is due to hit the mid $4K range so I feel we are buying low on a high floor player.
Also Consider: Mark Giordano(CGY) on FanDuel and Brent Burns(SJ) on DraftKings if you are paying up
