Marc-Andre Fleury(DK - $8,200 FD - $9,000)
There is a nice selection of goalies in good spots tonight but Fleury stands out above the rest. He comes in having won four straight while allowing just four goals and is 7-0-3 in his last 10 games with a .921 save %. On top of that, he is elite on home ice where he has recorded a 13-3-3 record, .928 save % , and five shutouts. He and the Golden Knights are in a great spot tonight as -280 home favorites against a Rangers team that has struggled away from MSG(6-12-2) and sit 25th in road offense. Fire up Fleury in all formats.
Also Consider: Matt Murray(PIT) who has won seven straight since returning from injury with a .962 save % and two shutouts
Tyler Seguin(DK - $6,400 FD - $6,300)
Instead of going with one of the elite centers(McDavid, MacKinnon, Crosby, Stamkos) as my top pick, I will be taking the discount and rolling with Tyler Seguin. He is the seventh most expensive option at the position and comes in red hot with points in five straight with 23 shots on goal. The advanced stats also stand out as he sits with a 11.3 shots/60, 19.2 iCorsi/60, and averages over 10 scoring chances per 60. Facing a Blues team that ranks dead last in home defense(3.6 goals against per game), Seguin is a great play in all formats.
Also Consider: Mathew Barzal(NYI) who has also been red hot with 13 points in his last 10 games while seeing a huge uptick in shots with 35 in that time.
Jeff Skinner(DK - $6,600 FD - $7,100)
I will once again avoid the top priced plays at the position and go with some value in an effort to build a more balanced lineup, at least in cash games. Jeff Skinner has been very impressive in his first season with the Sabres with 41 points in 42 games after only recording 49 points in 82 games last season with the Canes. On top of that, he is averaging over three shots per game giving him a high floor and ceiling. Adding to the upside tonight is the matchup against the Devils who rank 28th in road defense allowing 3.8 goals per game. Fire up Skinner in all formats and stack him with Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart in GPP formats.
Also Consider: Brendan Gallagher(MON) who comes at a value price, gets a plus matchup against Red Wings 26th ranked defense and has some elite advanced stats with a 12.4 shots/60, 23.2 iCorsi/60, while averaging 13.8 scoring chances per 60
Aaron Ekblad(DK - $3,800 FD - $4,300)
This play has slightly better value on DraftKings where Ekblad’s price has dipped down into the $3K range. He is coming off a multi-point game but upside isn’t why I target him on defense. He provides us a stable floor for cash games(for the price) with 24 shots and five blocks over his last 10 games and he also get s ton of opportunity skating on the top pairing and second powerplay unit. He is averaging over 22 minutes of ice-time on the season and has topped 25 minutes in a game five times in his last 10 games. He is an excellent option in cash games and even as a salary relief option in GPP’s to fit a top stack.
Also Consider: Josh Morrissey(WPG) in all formats as he provides a high floor(20 shots & 24 blocks last 10 games) and some upside with 24 points on the season
