Happy Friday hockey fans! Tonight we have a smaller six-game slate but it is definitely not short of excellent fantasy plays. Let’s jump in and take a look at some core plays at each position.

There are no elite goalies on this slate which muddies the water a bit but one name stands out above the rest, at least from a safety/cash game perspective. The Flames lead the Western Conference standings with a little over a week to go and come into tonight as huge -260 home favorites against a Ducks team that has been out of the picture for awhile. The Ducks offense also ranks dead last overall and on the road this season and the only downside here is that they don’t take a ton of shots(27.5 per 60) and the flames don’t allow a lot(28.2 per 60). Considering the other options, however, Rittich is easily my favorite goalie in all formats.
Also Consider: Malcolm Subban(VGK)
Andreas Athanasiou/Dylan Larkin(DET)
The Red Wings are playing on a back to back tonight but this matchup is just too juicy to avoid. They face a Devils team that has an ugly 10-25-3 road record while ranking 30th in road defense. Larkin is the more expensive of the two but is heating back up with three goals in his last two games to go along with an elite floor(10.4 shots/60, 17.9 iCorsi/60). Athanasiou was held off the scoresheet in a 5-4 win last night but tallied four shots and going into last night had 10 points and 33 shots over his last 10 games. The best part is the sub $6K price tag on both sits putting right up there in my PTS/$ rankings.
Also Consider: Mikael Backlund(CGY)
Tuch has been limited to 69 games this season but has still easily set a new career high with 51 points coming into tonight(37 points in 78 games last season). While those points have not come consistently lately the floor has remained high as he has tallied 29 shots in his last 10 games and is getting a ton of opportunity skating on the second line with Paul Stastny and Mark Stone. At $5,700 on DraftKings, I will likely just pay up for his top-line teammate Reilly Smith, Jonathan Marchessault, or his linemate Mark Stone but on Fan|Duel, he is still a terrific value at just $4,300.
Also Consider: Vladimir Tarasenko(STL)
It feels like we are going to have to pay up for one of the four top D-men tonight and I lean Josi for a couple reasons. He is third in salary of the group(Giordano, Letang, Barrie) to start and since the start of February(25 games) he has tallied 19 points with an average of 5.3 combined shots/blocks per game. All things considered, Josi is my favorite pay up option at the position in all formats.
Also Consider: Vince Dunn(STL) as an upside value play
