Top-Tier Pitching Targets:

James Paxton ($9600 DK, $11,000 FD): Paxton has been averaging over 30 FPPG/DK at home so far for the Yankees this season, and lines up tonight with a favorable, flow-chart supported matchup with the SF Giants. The average exit velocity for Paxton’s opponents has been 91 MPH so far which certainly adds confidence to the suggestion that his early-season dominance is no fluke.

Max Scherzer ($10,400 DK, $12,300 FD): Perhaps the only reason Max is still under 11K on DraftKings has been how seemingly hittable he has been to start the year. He has averaged around 28 FPPG/DK at home so far this year though, and lines up for a plus-matchup with the Padres who have been pedestrian/subpar against RHP this season racking up a .290 wOBA, and an 80 wRC+. The average exit velocity of 88 MPH also supports that Scherzer may have been a little unlucky thus far in the year with some of the hits/runs he has given up.

Mid-Tier/Cheap Pitching Targets:

Martin Perez ($6800 DK, $7000 FD): Perez is lining up for his second start of the season as he began the year in the pen. He is coming off of a very respectable performance, against one of the worst offenses in baseball however in the Toronto Blue Jays, so the jury is still out on whether Perez will be a reliable DFS-play. Baltimore presents a plus-matchup though as they check in with an 85 wRC+, and a mediocre .149 ISO against LHP. Consider Perez more of a GPP recommendation as it will be wiser to pay-up for two of the studs at SP in Cash-games.

Jared Eickhoff ($7900 DK, $7800 FD): This is a flow-chart recommendation as the Marlins have racked up a terrible .267 wOBA, 67 wRC+, and a miserable league-low .118 ISO against RHP. Eickhoff is also at home and will surely be the betting-favorite. Sometimes you just have to trust the numbers, go with Eickhoff in Cash or GPP as he is safe for both.

Top-Tier Offensive Stack:

Seattle Mariners: Shelby Miller will be in for a heckuva-test tonight as he lines up against the Mariner offense which has managed to accrue a whopping .349 wOBA, league-leading 124 wRC+, and a .238 ISO against RHP so far.

Other options to consider:

Minnesota Twins

Mid-Tier/Cheap Offensive Stack:

New York Yankees: It’s funny to consider the Yankee-bats a mid-tier stack, but at the moment they have so many injuries that it simply would be unfair to treat them as if they were the same team that began the year. Although they have been playing better on the road so far this year, the Yankees come into tonight’s matchup against RHP Chase Anderson with a very respectable .345 wOBA, 115 wRC+, and a .215 ISO which certainly fuels speculation that they will find success against a non-dominant RHP in Anderson.
