Core Pitchers

Chris Paddack(SD) @ San Francisco Giants

Rookie Chris Paddack has looked human in his last two starts giving up five home runs combined but, in my opinion, is in the best spot of the Top 3(Corbin, Castillo the others) tonight. It starts with the matchup against a Giants team who has scored just seven total runs in their last five games and rank bottom five against righties with a .285 wOBA, 78 wRC+, and 156 ISO. If Paddack can get the fastball/changeup back to generating a high ground ball rate, he should be able to go deep and hit value on both sites.

John Means(BAL) vs. Toronto Blue Jays

Means has been a very interesting case study this season. The 2.67 ERA is the first thing that stands out and I fully understand there is regression on its way as he sits with an xFIP(4.98) almost two and a half runs higher. Where he has been successful is by not getting into trouble with an elite 1.07 WHIP, 6% walk rate, and has only allowed 33% hard contact and league-low 14% line drive rate. He also gets a terrific matchup against the Jays who have averaged just 3.1 runs per game while losing 10 of their last 12 games and have been a bottom five team against lefties as well(.283 wOBA, 76 wRC+, .661 OPS). If you are looking at loading up with one of the top guys, Means makes an excellent SP2 on DraftKings allowing you to still get some bats and he is a great GPP play on FanDuel getting you all the bats.

Also Consider: Patrick Corbin(WSH)

Teams to Target

Minnesota Twins vs. Mike Leake(SEA)

The Twins(5.7) are second in a group of six teams with an implied run-line of five or more runs tonight and my top team to target. They face Mike Leake who his coming off a complete game but I am not buying it as he has someone had a LOB%(left on base) of 90%+ in those two games and has been operating with an extremely run hot .152 BABIP over his last three starts. He now faces a Twins team that leads the league in runs scored(382 & 18 more than the Rangers) and has a whopping 125 home runs to this point in the season.

Cash Options: Jorge Polanco, Eddie Rosario, Max Kepler

GPP Options: Nelson Cruz, Mitch Garver, C.J. Cron

Pittsburgh Pirates @ Mike Foltynewicz(ATL)

In this new crazy trend of offense we have seen, we are not only looking for runs when stacking but as many home runs as we can get our hands on in our lineups. This matchup provides that as the Pirates face a pitcher in Mike Foltynewicz who has given up multiple home runs in six of his eight starts(24% HR/FB rate) on an ugly 46% flyball rate and has been bad against both sites of the plate with a 45% hard contact rate to lefties and 48% to righties. Load up on Pirates in all formats.

Cash Options: Josh Bell, Starling Marte, Bryan Reynolds

Add for a GPP Stack: Kevin Newman, Colin Moran, Gregory Polanco
