Welcome back hockey fans. In this article, I will be taking a look at my favorite goalies, teams to target, and value plays.
Josh’s are stealing the show on the value train today and this Josh has five goals in his last four games and is second in the league with nine goals so far this season. Anderson’s price is still way too cheap so make sure you get exposure to him against a weak Oilers defense.
Price hasn’t quite been right so far this season but he will probably settle in soon. Tonight, it’s more about his opponent, the Sens who are ranked 28th in offense and the Habs are massive -220 favourites to win. The Sens won their most recent meeting in overtime so look for the Habs to get revenge this evening and Price is a great play in all formats.
The Oilers are starting to get great goaltending play and that is very dangerous for the rest of the division. Smith is 4-0 with a stifling .940 save % to go along with a 1.83 GAA and the Canucks are ranked a below average 17th in offense. The Oilers should simply be too much for the Canucks this evening and Smith is also a great play in all formats.
TOP TEAMS TO TARGET
It’s a no-brainer to put Edmonton and their surging third-ranked offense here, especially against the Canucks’ pitiful 29th ranked defense.
All-world superstar Connor McDavid has an astonishing 37 points in only 20 games and the German power forward Leon Draisaitl has 30 points in 20 games. Tyson Barrie, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Alex Chiasson fill out the dangerous top pp unit for the Oilers.
The Habs are regressing on offense a bit as they slipped down to the #8 rank but they play against Ottawa and their league-worst defense again this evening.
Tyler Toffoli has sniped 11 goals to go along with five assists through 17 games and point-man Jeff Petry has six goals and ten assists through 17 games. Nick Suzuki, Corey Perry, and Jonathan Drouin complete the top pp unit for the Habs.
The theme is Oilers heavy today and with good reason as their offense is tearing the North division apart. Chiasson plays a bottom-six role at even-strength but plays on the lethal top pp unit with all of the studs. The veteran winger has a pp goal and an assist in his last two games and at minimum prices on both sites, he is a great value play in all formats.
We need value to fit in superstars like McDavid and this guy fits the bill as he has five shots in his last two games and a whopping 19 blocks in his last five. Savard is a great value play especially on dk where you get a three-point block bonus after three blocks.
