Welcome back for another night of action in the Association. Let’s jump in and take a look at some of my core plays at each position and then make sure to check out all our top plays on the Members-Only DFS NBA cheatsheet available in chat.
BEN SIMMONS – 76ERS – FD $9,300 DK $9,300
Simmons has been playing great with Embiid out of the lineup and it surely seems like he’s found some kind of rhythm of late. The Raptors play fast and Kyle Lowry nor Fred Van Vleet have any chance of slowing down Simmons. They’re both smaller guards and we’ll likely see Normal Powell and Pascal Siakam get a lot of time on him. They’re much better defenders, but it just speaks to the mismatches that Ben Simmons causes on the floor. The Sixers will see a few extra possessions in this game and I like Simmons to get back over 45 fantasy points for what seems like the 10th game in a row.
ZACH LAVINE – BULLS – FD $8,800 DK $9,000
There is a long history between Zach LaVine and the Timberwolves, but that’s just icing on the cake for what is already a phenomenal match-up. The Timberwolves play at a top-seven pace and give up the 5th most FP’s to opposing SG’s. LaVine is playing some of the best basketball of his career and there’s no reason to think that slows down tonight. The price is fair on both sites and I’m a fan in all formats.
KENDRICK NUNN – HEAT – FD $5,400 DK $6,100
Nunn is playing some of the best basketball of the season and somehow flying under the radar while doing so. The guard has played huge minutes in each of the last three games and has averaged 21 points per game over the last five. With Butler back in action, people will likely write off Nunn and that’s the wrong move. He’s still going to play 30+ minutes against a Wizards team that is a dream match-up.
Other thoughts: With Kawhi Leonard and Patrick Beverley joining Paul George as inactive, Lou Williams and Landry Shamet are great plays in all formats.
BRANDON INGRAM – PELICANS – FD $8,700 DK $8,900
Ingram is a guy I’ll play in any match-up at this price around the industry. Against the Spurs, I don’t see how you stay away from Brandon Ingram in any format. San Antonio not only plays fast, but they don’t have anyone with the tools to slow down Ingram. Nobody really does, but some teams do at least have young, length wings that can somewhat challenge him. Rudy Gay is as close as it gets for the Spurs and he hasn’t been a good defender since about 2011. Ingram is in another smash spot here against the Spurs and I’m a fan in all formats.
BAM ADEBAYO – HEAT – FD $8,600 DK $8,400
Don’t be afraid to have two Miami Heat in your lineup tonight, albeit a 14-game slate. The amount of games on the docket doesn’t take away how fast and porous this Washington Wizards team is. Adebayo last posted a 14/14/5 against the Wizards, but didn’t add the peripherals to put him over that 50-FP edge. I look for that to change tonight and for Bam to have an absolutely huge night.
Other Thoughts: Zion Williamson is a great value on both sites. He should smash value in limited minutes.
MONTREZL HARRELL – CLIPPERS – FD $5,900 DK $6,800
Trez has a great game last night and bullied the Mavericks interior some, but gets an even better match-up tonight with the Hawks. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are both out for this game, so it’ll be a lot of Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell here. The Hawks have no answer for Harrell and this game could turn into a fantasy goldmine with Leonard our. Harrell is way too cheap on both sites and I’m going to have a hard time ignoring him across the board.
